On Thursday 22nd November, St. Wilfrid’s CE Primary School participated, alongside Sir John Sherbrooke and St. Wilfrid’s Youth Drama, in an amazing community event – the Calverton Shakespeare Festival.

We performed a magical abridged version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream with confident performances featuring pupils from our Year 5 and 6 classes, who had shown great commitment to rehearsals, giving up countless lunchbreaks, and learnt some extremely tricky Shakespearean lines. The event was made all the more special by being on a ‘real stage’ with theatre lights and sounds, performing to a full room at the Village Hall.

I’m sure everyone who came along to watch and support the children will agree that the atmosphere was wonderful and bursting with community spirit. Great work Calverton!
