School Council in Action

Our School Council plays an important role in making our school a better place for everyone. This year, the council has been busy organising and supporting a range of events and improvements across the school, with a strong focus on inclusion, equality, anti-bullying and anti-racism.

They have led fundraising and awareness efforts for important causes, including the Macmillan Coffee Morning, Jeans for Genes Day, Bright for Sight, children’s mental health and wellbeing, diabetes awareness, and a fun Crazy Hair Day for Children in Need. Through these events, they have helped raise money and awareness while bringing our school community together.

The School Council has also listened to pupils’ ideas and made positive changes, such as arranging for butter to be available with jacket potatoes and organising the football rota for lunchtime and break times to ensure fair play for everyone.

Throughout the year, the council continues to take part in special events, awareness campaigns and whole-school activities. They actively promote inclusion and equality, challenge discrimination, and support anti-bullying and anti-racism initiatives, helping to ensure that everyone feels safe, respected, and valued. They also celebrate important figures and occasions, while raising awareness of key health and wellbeing topics to support the whole school community.

We are proud of the School Council for their hard work, creativity and commitment to making a difference.
