Responsibilities of the Governing Body 

All school governors are volunteers. They are responsible for making the school's key strategic decisions. The governing body plays a vital role in ensuring school accountability. The governing body has a strong focus on 3 core strategic functions:

• Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
• Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff; and
• Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.

The full governing body meets once a term, with the sub-committees meeting in between.  The main subcommittee is Policies, Procedures and Finance (PPF).
